About two years ago, a friend of mine told me about Wale. I never bothered actually listening to him until about two weeks ago. Waiting that long was a huge mistake. Recently, Wale was on Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon, performing the song “Change” with Daniel Merriweather. While it’s not my favorite song, it’s definitely positive exposure. Here’s the YouTube clip of that night’s performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXOwlFW8vXQ

Two weeks ago I downloaded Wale’s The Mixtape About Nothing, the fourth of five mixtapes he currently has out. This album draws inspiration from the TV show Seinfeld. It uses various clips from the show throughout the album, every song starts with “the”, etc. If you’re a fan of Seinfeld, you’ll definitely appreciate this album. I’ve listened to the whole album probably like six times already, and I not only love the fact that it’s mostly good music… I also love the fact that it is freeeee. You can find the free download from 10 Deep right here: http://10deep.com/WALEMIXTAPE/

Want more free Wale? Well, here it is. Wale’s third mixtape, released in 2007, is called 100 Miles & Running. I’ve just recently picked it up, and if you want it, you can find it for free right here: http://www.mediafire.com/?a29dyjinm13

Wale’s most recent mixtape is Back to the Feature, and it was released earlier this year. I’ve also recently acquired this mixtape, so I haven’t had enough time to give it a thorough listen, but you can do yourself a favor a get it, again for free, at: http://www.zshare.net/download/621944113825271b/

Wale’s first studio album Attention: Deficit is set to drop on September 22, 2009, so make sure you pick up a copy. For some more information visit Wale’s site: http://www.walemusic.com/
